never ending spring break

yeah so i'm pretty sure i'm on like day 15 of my spring break...no complaints here. break started with a soccer tourney down in stevens point. it was a blast to see all the soccer girls again, it's been awhile. then i drove back up to the stout-lands for a night of chillin'. the next morning bright and early i took off with gail and headed back to K-town. saw the rents and went to the movie, failure to launch which was pretty good. then we took off the next day to milwaukee for ashley's 21st b-day. suprised how packed brothers was on a monday night but it was good times for sure. we even have a souvenier to prove it thanks to chad. ha.
ashley21
then we stayed a night with jen and walter at their apt and got to catch up a bit over pizza and a movie. the next day i drove gail back up to stout, turned around and went back home for the rest of the week. came back up to stout again...on friday so sat. morning i could get up and out of menomonie by 6am to catch our flight to canada! i went with taga (technical association of the graphic arts) we took 9 people from stout and it was awesome. we even had an advisor there with us for i think..um.. what was it 24 hours? hah. thanks len. went to the aquarium. toured vancouver, walked through an art museum (where pierce brosnan was as well) and stayed at the four seasons where there were ben stiller sightings....i missed that one. anyway we met up with other taga students from clemson, cal-poly, rit, france, turkey, sweeden...yeah crazy i know. but it was a good time and we all went out and got to know each other a little better at night which was cool.
taga
one person in particular may have even went as hard core as to get himself a taga tattoo..but i'm not going to mention any names....haha. yeah that's right...sad. anway so i got back and had one class on thursday, worked friday and then went to a waterpark for the weekend. nice. i love my parents! after feeling sufficiently like a fish we came back to stout and i have today (monday) off work. not to mention that tomorrow is advisement day so we don't have classes...oh yeah and i don't have any classes wednesday...just work. so real rough ha. haha! i love it. it's going to be like a 3 week vacation. i am enjoying every second of it. ok well i think i'm going to go bowling so have a great day everyone. peace. - t

home for the holidays

well. back in k-town once again. i came home a few weekends ago with gail, bridget and steph and went to a packer game which was awesome by the way. glad i got to see one of the few wins this season...it was well worth the 11 degree weather. the semester is over and i didn't have a single final test to take. i had a take home essay thingy which was nothing and a few other little things to do but nothing on finals week at all. it was great. i stuck around awhile after i was done to wait for jami to be done student teaching and then drove home. its strange being back here again. especially for so long again. last year i went back early for a winterm class. this time i'll be home almost the whole time. thinking of going back for about a week in the middle to pick up some hours at work (that way i'm not so dang broke when i get back) speaking of broke. pretty sure i've never been this far in debt in my life. its a very uneasy feeling. anyway. the past two days have been good. went to the middle school with my mom for a bit and saw some little squirts. pretty much been chillin out here at the house, too cold to go play outside and no cash to go blow anywhere. so...here i am. all my friends have been working a lot, and since i haven't been home for so long i don't have a job here anymore...great. woohoo. anyway. i'm planning on some quality fam time since i'll be graduating and moving...who knows where in may. ok. well safe travels and happy holidays to everyone. peace. - t

WOOHOO Technology!

Ok. So check this out! I made a lenticular piece for my major this semester and it looks awesome. I have the animated digital version of it and figured out how to put it up here! I'm so excited. Enjoy! If you would like a "real" version of it with the stand and the magazine we made let me know. There is an article co-wrote by me in it that explains how it is made and how it works. Ahh...I love my major (what a nerd!) hehe. Peace. - T

easy ridin

well. the first semester is almost over. not going to lie this has probably been my easiest semester of school ever. i am enduring a rough 12 credits for the first time ever. haha. yeah i know. and next semester i only have 9 credits left to graduate so i'm taking a 3 credit online course (just to stay a full time student). but i'm getting ahead of myself. i haven't even written about the last semester. first things first. soccer is done with. we ended the season in the semi-final game against uw-oshkosh (once again) and lost. bah. i personally think we could have played a better game, but i can't say too much because i watched the game from the sidelines. woohoo. yeah. the begining of the year was awesome for playing time. i even made a headline for one game scoring the only goals of the game (2) verses milwaukee school of engineering. after mid-point of the season it begain to return to "normal" i watched most of the games while standing next to my roomies. it wasn't exactly how i invisioned the season but not really anything else i could have done. i worked my butt of this past summer and during the season. well, if you got it you got it. if you don't...you just don't. (it's ok. i know i don't) but it was still fun. i had a blast with all my soccer chicas and will never forget all the good (and not so good) times. being a captain - by the way. overrated. captains don't get all the glory like in the movies just so ya know. anyway. this year i joined taga which is the technical association for the graphic arts. first time i've been involved and i'm the secretary. also, sts tried to get me to be president for next semester. good try guys. i ran - but didn't even vote for myself. sorry it's my last semester of college and i don't want to have all that responsibility. now we are looking at needing a new production manager. eek. ok. for real i don't mind doing stuff (and for real i will) but doing something and having to do something is very different. it's not fun if it's a job. i think i'll retire as soon as i graduate. sounds good to me. the roomie situation is going great. stacie is super fun and a great "random" if i do say so myself. good job tanya...hey no problem. haha. katie and gail and i are ... well we are all soccer teammates so of course we get along. we still have smalls and cookie dough causing trouble but now they have a friend. stacie brought up her hampster named thor - he's like magic. he changes colors. yeah don't ask questions. anyway. we have one more roomie this year too. his name is tucker! he is jen (our old roomie) and walter's dog. he is super cute and i swear that i'm gonna ball when i have to give him back to them. here is a cute little pic of him. he's so adorable.
tucker
anyway. i've started to look at places to work after graduation. i've been looking at quad again because i really do like it. i've also been peeking around at some other places that seem interesting. got some interviews set up for over x-mas break (which is in like two weeks!) next week i'm going home with gail and bridget to watch the packers take on the lions at lambeau field! i'm so excited! although the pack is having a..um lets say...rough...season, i will all ways be a packer backer. too bad we have to be living with two minnesota kids. throws off the whole dynamic of the house. haha. just kidding katie and stacie. what else? got some x-mas shopping done already. got a little left to do but not really any money to do it with. working at silgan still...and not loving it. i picked up some shifts for the end of the year but something tells me i will have to do everything in my power not to call in sick. once i'm there it's fine...but getting there seems like jumping through a burning holla-hoop. ok. well i have absolutely nothing to do today and i'm loving it so i'm gonna go do that nothingness. peace. -t

the last ever first day

well i recently had my last ever first day of a school year. kinda crazy to think about. i remember when i was younger and my cousin graduated from high school. she told me that she never had to go to another class again. i was stunned in amazement. i couldn't really grasp the concept of not going to school. now that is growing closer and i don't like it. yeah, there are things that i could do without in college, but overall, if i could stay here a couple more years - i would. i'm sure as the year ends i'll be ready to bail outta here, but not yet. things are going as expected up here in northwest wisconsin. i'm doing a crapload of homework, at the last minute (did you expect anything else?) you'd think that by my senior year of college i'd have all the procrastination out of my system...nope. soccer is rolling right along and before i know it that will be done forever. this is the last year i can play college ball and after this, who knows. i'm pushing myself farther than i ever have before to make sure that my senior year of college soccer looks nothing like my senior year of high school. so far so good. i don't even care about stats, goals, games played, etc. it's making sure i have fun with my girls and can get out on the field and make a difference. working over at silgan containers once again - let me tell ya - it didn't get any more fun or exciting over the summer. however, there is a giant pay raise for anyone on nights...better believe i scored some of those hours! $2.25 more an hour will do that to you. also trying out that whole on campus job thing again. working for a prof. as an office assitant type. doing all the grades and such for some 9 or so classes. should be interesting. just got back from chicago, twice. the first was right before school started. that was great. i went down with the fam. we went to see lion king on broadway as well as wicked. which for real was hillarious. it's the story about the wicked witch of the west from wizard of oz and how she really wasn't wicked...just misunderstood. haha. it was pretty good too that the good witch wasn't really good, just a dumb blonde! haha i loved that. not to mention that we had vip tickets for both shows and some really awesome seats! we also tried some different foods, saw a lot of the city and went to some different museums and such. i had a good time hanging out with the family one last time before i had to get back to the swing of school. i'm going to miss those moments, they are the things i look forward too each year. a few weeks later i went down to chicago again for print 05. it was a pretty sweet trade show for my major. went with some kids and proffs and had a blast. got to see some really neat things and get a ton of samples to bring back. when we were down there, among a ton of other things we went and saw the blue man group. i had never seen them and they were great. funny as can be. i loved it. i always love anything that can give me a good laugh. ok. well i have this thing i have to go to...i think they call them classes. darn. well. since this will be only my second one all week i think i can handle it. (all my profs. are still down in chicago! haha) ok. peace.

honey....i'm home

that's right. i'm back at stout. getting thing started back up for one last year in college. soccer pre-season is going easy. the easiest year since i've started. kinda disappointed. i really want to have a great last year but it really doesn't seem like we are training for it. anyway, we have a lot of good freshman and it looks as thought most of the girls have come back in shape. a lot of strains and pulled muscles right now, but it should be ok. started working back at silgan today...great is all i have to say about that. i also have a job working for one of my profs in his office. i'm getting excited for everyone else to get up to stout. i want all my other friends to be here and hang out. i had a great time on my internship but it's going to be nice to have one last year to chill out and be a "kid" before entering the real world. i think the hardest part about coming back to school is leaving behind all the great people i met this summer. i miss everyone who are now spread out everywhere!
quad girls
here's all the clubhouse roomies for the summer. jen, mitzi, ame, me and tedra. miss you guys!...and the rest of you too!!! anyway, gail, katie and i (the roomies at stout) are still waiting on the 4th roomie to get up here as well, that should be interesting. have another random roommate...almost feels like freshman year again. ok. well i have to get to the training room and get all ready for some socca'. peace. - t

Keep on Keepin on

well - i have about 2 weeks left of the summer working at quad/graphics. i've had a lot of new experiences. learning a lot and really enjoying the time with these fun people. most of them are leaving for the summer in only a week (leaving me in the clubhouse alone) eek! i can't believe how much stuff i've done this summer. strawberry festival, fairs, brewer's games, canoeing, picnics/bbq's, and next weekend i'm headed up north with wee-gee. i'm so pumped! wow, i don't think i've ever packed this much into one summer before. crazy. the girls i'm living with are a blast. i've got jen - arizona girl who i spent the first part of my rotations with...my driving buddy. tedra - from virgina who is more excentric than anyone i think i've ever met! mitzi - from good ole chicago, and there is nothing more to say than she is just a sweetie! and...saving the best for last...cause she's my roomie!! haha. amy from north carolina. she's great and i've learned some fun things from that girl! darn appalachian mountains! no but for real these girls have been great. ups and downs seemed to smooth out a little easier with them around. (thanks to my girls out there) yeah. and there are also the ones that i didn't get to live with, but were just as awesome. amanda - from new hampshire/RIT - my orientation pal. we came in lost and confused together! good luck with those work outs amanda! and kim - the rowdie one in all of us! gonna miss hanging out, and working out, with you dude. and da boys. brad and gabe. ahh... yeah. what can i say about them. they're crazy. gabe made a new "buddy" this summer, glad for that. we're gonna make you a water splashin kid yet. and brad, how would i have ever made it to all those early morning meetings without my chauffer...and he even brough a pillow and blanket! haha. yup. what a fun group. well, i've got about one week left with you guys and i'm excited to see what kinda trouble we can arouse! and to my stout kids...i'll be there soon! peace. - t
